7 Day Masai Mara & Amboseli Safari

OVERVIEW

This journey pairs two of Kenya’s most iconic landscapes. The Masai Mara delivers the classic African safari experience with its endless savannahs and exceptional predator encounters, while Amboseli National Park is famous for its large elephant herds moving across open plains beneath the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Over seven days the safari moves from Nairobi into the Mara’s wildlife-rich plains before heading south to Amboseli where the scenery changes dramatically. It’s a compact but complete Kenya safari that balances spectacular wildlife viewing with some of East Africa’s most memorable landscapes.

Your Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi

Your safari begins in Nairobi where you are met at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Kenya’s capital sits on the edge of wild country and has long served as the gateway to East Africa’s most celebrated safari regions. The afternoon is left open to relax after your flight. Many travelers spend the evening enjoying the gardens of their hotel while preparing for the journey into the wilderness the following day.

Day 2 – Nairobi to Masai Mara

Leaving Nairobi behind, the road descends dramatically into the Great Rift Valley where vast escarpments open into sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The journey continues through Maasai country where cattle, acacia trees and open grasslands dominate the scenery.

Arrival in the Masai Mara signals the start of your first game drive. Wildlife often appears almost immediately — giraffes moving across the plains, elephants grazing in the distance and antelope scattered across the savannah.

Day 3 – Masai Mara Safari Experience

Dawn spreads across the savannah and the ecosystem begins to stir. Lions return from the night hunt while hyenas patrol the plains and cheetahs scan the grasslands from elevated termite mounds.
